We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the role of LifeLine Paramedic with both Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) capabilities. This position is based in Indianapolis, IN and features a set schedule of three 12-hour shifts. The LifeLine Paramedic plays a critical role in delivering emergency and non-emergency medical care, transport, and treatment to ill or injured patients of all ages, ranging from neonates to the elderly. The paramedic is responsible for making rapid and informed clinical decisions and must thoroughly understand all relevant medical protocols and state regulatory requirements.
In this role, the paramedic is accountable for comprehensive patient assessment and care, effective communication of patient condition and treatment details to hospital personnel and other healthcare providers, and critical documentation related to patient care and ambulance operation. The job also includes driving the ambulance safely between locations, obtaining necessary consent and authorizations from patients or their legal guardians, accurately recording service times, and assisting with billing and daily reports. The paramedic is required to maintain strict compliance with departmental, hospital, and safety policies, and to operate within the scope of practice defined by Indiana state law.
Candidates must possess specialized certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or their equivalents. Obtaining certifications such as the Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) and NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 within the initial probationary period is also required. A minimum of one year of ALS Paramedic experience is preferred, although new graduates with the appropriate licenses and certifications will be considered. The role demands an individual who can make independent, competent clinical and operational decisions in a high-pressure emergency environment. A valid Indiana driver’s license and a clean Motor Vehicle Record are mandatory, with employment consideration contingent on the Motor Vehicle Record results.
