The Pickleball Instructor position at Life Time is an exciting opportunity for those passionate about pickleball and dedicated to teaching others while working in a dynamic, member-focused environment. This role primarily involves providing private pickleball lessons and leading group programs to enhance players' skills on court. Instructors are responsible for coordinating pickleball leagues and mixers, thereby encouraging participation and community involvement. The position emphasizes student-centered learning and employs rally-based teaching methods to create engaging, effective learning experiences.
Pickleball Instructors at Life Time are expected to contribute to the growth of their personal book of business and departmental revenue by attracting and retaining participants through excellent teaching and member-centric customer service. On average, instructors spend over 30 hours per week on court, combining pickleball and tennis instruction, ensuring students receive consistent, high-quality coaching. Developing safe, professional, and comprehensive lesson plans is essential to encouraging ongoing participation and achieving positive feedback from members.
This role integrates active collaboration with Life Time's Membership Advisors and Member Activities teams, promoting pickleball as a key component of the club's brand and offerings. The instructor ensures the pickleball facilities and equipment are well-maintained, clean, and organized, supporting an excellent member experience. The position is hourly and pays the higher of minimum wage or $15 per hour, with an additional service incentive of 40 percent of eligible on-court revenue generated. The work environment fosters teamwork, continuous development, and member engagement, making it a rewarding career for individuals who thrive on helping others enjoy and excel at the game of pickleball.
                - HS graduate or equivalent
 - 1-2 years of experience
 - Within 6 months of hire must complete one of the following certifications: International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association (IPTPA) and/or Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR)
 - Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb and lift up to 50 pounds
 - Excellent customer service skills
 - Friendly, outgoing, and positive attitude
 - Thorough knowledge of the game of pickleball and possesses effective teaching styles and techniques
