The Lead Cook role at Aramark is a critical position within the food service team, responsible for preparing and cooking food using standardized recipes while adhering strictly to food safety, sanitation, and food handling guidelines. The Lead Cook handles kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens, and broilers with confidence and proficiency, ensuring production guidelines are met efficiently. This role also involves supervising kitchen staff by scheduling and delegating daily tasks while training and guiding team members on proper cooking methods and food safety procedures. Lead Cooks maintain clean, organized, and safe workstations equipped with all necessary ingredients and utensils. This position requires the individual to measure, weigh, mix, chop, and prepare ingredients accurately, and to cook food using various methods including baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming, ensuring food is arranged, garnished, and portioned according to established standards. Maintaining positive customer service interactions and a cooperative team atmosphere is expected, as well as upholding Aramark’s safety and security policies.
