The Lead Bartender plays an essential leadership role by supporting the Director of Food & Beverage, Executive Chef, and Food & Beverage Manager with various leadership responsibilities and operational tasks. The Lead Bartender is responsible for maintaining high standards in cocktail preparation, utilizing proper techniques to craft cocktails at high volume while ensuring consistency and quality. They are also instrumental in directing the craft spirits, wine, and beer programs and play a part in creating the craft cocktail menu with a focus on classical mixology methods. Alongside their supervisory duties, they contribute to cost management by keeping accurate par levels, preventing spillage, enforcing theft-prevention measures, and designing high-margin beverage programs. This role demands excellent customer service skills, with a commitment to guest satisfaction and maintaining strict service standards. The Lead Bartender trains the bartending team to uphold these standards, enhancing product knowledge and technique. They ensure the bar is fully stocked with necessary materials, including garnishes, infusions, syrups, and bitters, all used properly and consistently. They also prepare house-made spirit infusions and collaborate with the Director of Food & Beverage to build vendor relationships and ensure the bar carries top-quality products. Operational responsibilities include handling cash and credit transactions accurately, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards behind the bar, performing inventory control, and securing all alcoholic products to prevent theft or loss.
