The role of Lead Airline Passenger Assistant, also known as Lead Wheelchair Agent, is a customer service-oriented position dedicated to supporting airline passengers requiring or requesting wheelchair assistance. This hourly position pays $18.50 per hour, with pay adjustments based on factors such as experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and market alignment. The Lead Wheelchair Agent is responsible for fulfilling the passenger services obligation of airlines by safely and efficiently assisting passengers with mobility challenges throughout their journey within the airport premises. The role involves transporting passengers in wheelchairs from their retrieval points to their desired destinations, ensuring compliance with all relevant client and site security procedures, and maintaining safety precautions at all times.
This position offers on-the-job training and requires no prior experience or formal education, making it an excellent opportunity for individuals entering or returning to the workforce. While a high school diploma or GED is not required, customer service experience is preferred. The Lead Wheelchair Agent plays a vital role in enhancing passenger experience through positive interpersonal interactions and thorough incident report completion, contributing to a smooth and supportive travel experience. Additionally, this role collaborates closely with dispatchers and gate agents to coordinate assignments effectively.
