The role being offered is that of a Kitchen Steward, an essential position within the food service operations of the tribe's hospitality venues. This full-time role requires a dedicated individual responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards across kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils. The Kitchen Steward will ensure the safe and efficient storage of incoming food products and assist dishwashers with daily tasks. Attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and teamwork are critical to success in this role. This position demands physical stamina, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and careful management of cleaning chemicals and equipment. The Kitchen Steward plays a vital role in supporting the kitchen team by maintaining a hygienic environment to meet health and safety standards. The candidate will be expected to perform a variety of cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, washing kitchen surfaces and equipment, segregating and removing trash, and ensuring compliance with safety guidelines by using protective gear when necessary. Work involves the use of institutional cleaning products and requires knowledge of kitchen operations and equipment care. The Kitchen Steward will also engage in organizing storage areas, rotating food supplies using proper methods, and transferring supplies between work areas. This role encompasses attending safety trainings, departmental meetings, and contributing to the onboarding and support of new staff members. Candidates with prior restaurant experience and a High School diploma or GED are preferred but not required. The position includes pre-employment requirements such as passing a drug screen, background investigation, and maintaining a Pauma Gaming Commission License. Physically, the role involves lifting heavy items, constant walking and standing, and maneuvering in tight spaces. The working environment is indoors but may include exposure to noise, light, smoke, and chemical irritants.
