Upper Crust Food Service is a distinguished provider of culinary services specializing in catering to Sororities and Fraternities across the United States. Known widely for its commitment to freshness, exceptional quality, variety in offerings, and outstanding customer service, Upper Crust Food Service has established itself as a trusted name in the niche market of Greek life food service. The company was founded with a clear mission to address a common issue faced by many fraternity and sorority houses—the lack of consistency and professionalism in kitchen operations. Through dedication to great food made from scratch and personalized service, Upper Crust Food Service has grown into a nationwide leader, preparing tens of thousands of meals every week for students in a wide array of universities and colleges. Being part of Upper Crust Food Service means joining a team where you are the crucial ingredient in delivering fresh, healthy meals that support the vibrant Greek life community. The organization values its chefs highly, recognizing them as key contributors to the unique dining experience it offers. Unlike many roles in the hospitality sector, Upper Crust Food Service offers a lifestyle that balances professional culinary challenge with a family-friendly schedule—what stands out are the very few late nights and minimal weekend hours, allowing chefs to maintain a healthy work-life balance. The position of Head Chef at Upper Crust Food Service is a dynamic leadership role centered around the creativity and execution of fresh, from-scratch menus tailored weekly to meet client preferences and nutritional standards. Head Chefs direct all food preparation and team efforts on-site, ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently while adhering to the company's core values and high standards of cleanliness and professionalism. This role demands a hands-on approach to menu design, cooking, and staff management. A Head Chef’s responsibilities include maintaining exceptional sanitation standards in line with state and local food safety regulations, fostering clear and consistent communication with both management and clients, and delivering a level of product quality and customer service unrivaled in the industry. The company encourages its culinary leaders to take pride in their work by regularly sharing meal presentation photos with management and engaging in direct dialogue with clients to adjust menus based on feedback. Upper Crust Food Service prioritizes the personal and professional development of its Head Chefs by emphasizing teamwork, high standards of kitchen operations, and a commitment to excellence in food preparation. This opportunity is ideal for classically trained chefs passionate about creating delightful culinary experiences and nurturing positive relationships with their teams and clients. As the company actively seeks talented chefs driven by a love for food and innovation, this highly competitive role offers substantial opportunities for career growth within a supportive and well-respected organization. In addition to a competitive salary, the company provides various benefits that underscore its commitment to employee well-being. These benefits include time off for most holidays, paid vacations, and a competitive 401K retirement plan with a company match. Health-related benefits are comprehensive, encompassing health, dental, vision, and even pet insurance. Upper Crust Food Service operates on principles of equal employment opportunity, ensuring a supportive, diverse workplace that prohibits discrimination or harassment based on any legally protected characteristic.
