Currently, HomeState is seeking to hire a Kitchen Team Member (Line Cook) to join their energetic and collaborative culinary staff. Working at HomeState means embracing core values such as guest focus, action orientation, resilience, collaboration, and adherence to strict sanitation and operational policies. Team members are expected to assist with all kitchen stations, including prep, line, grill, dish, and tortillas, demonstrating versatility and a commitment to quality. The role requires good communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to handle challenges with calm and efficiency. Attention to proper food handling, storage, and cooking techniques is paramount, along with maintaining a clean and organized workspace to ensure a safe and productive environment. HomeState enriches the employee experience by offering a supportive workplace where kindness is valued above all. Employees enjoy various benefits such as free meals—even on days off—retirement savings options, affordable health, dental, and vision insurance, and a company-paid life insurance plan. The company also promotes a positive culture through retention incentives, a slip-resistant shoe program, and referral bonuses. Employees are encouraged to be themselves and take pride in their work, contributing to a lively environment where hospitality is the foremost priority. This position requires 1-2 years of professional kitchen experience, a personable attitude, and the availability to work flexible shifts including weekends. A valid Food Handlers Certification or willingness to obtain one within 30 days of hiring is also necessary. Moreover, the physical demands of the job include standing for long periods, lifting up to 40 pounds, working in varying temperatures, and performing repetitive motions safely. HomeState is dedicated to accommodating individuals with disabilities and ensuring a diverse, inclusive work environment that aligns with all applicable laws and regulations.
