Hope House Colorado (HHC) is a dedicated nonprofit organization committed to empowering teen moms and changing the trajectory of two generations through comprehensive support and educational programs. Established to provide resources and opportunities for young mothers, HHC offers a nurturing environment that promotes growth, development, and self-sufficiency. HHC operates with a forward-thinking mindset, emphasizing expertise, collaboration, integrity, humility, and respect within its team and the community it serves. The organization fosters a supportive workplace culture that balances professionalism with fun and embraces the unique passions and strengths of each employee, ensuring a motivated, unified team dedicated to making a positive impact. Hope House Colorado is currently hiring a Kitchen Manager/Cook, an integral role within its Early Learning Center (ELC). The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for planning, preparing, and serving nutritionally balanced meals, including breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack, for 30 to 100 children within the ELC. This position directly contributes to the health and well-being of children by promoting healthy eating habits, appropriate portion sizes, and exposure to a diverse range of food choices. Working in compliance with Colorado Child Care licensing, Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) standards, and Colorado Health Department regulations, the Kitchen Manager ensures that all food service operations meet strict nutritional and safety guidelines. The role involves preparing meals on-site in a commercial kitchen located at the resource center and delivering them to the ELC, where snacks are also prepared. Additionally, the manager will create a 4-week rotating menu that aligns with CACFP nutritional standards and portion requirements. Responsibilities include managing weekly food ordering, maintaining inventory, and ensuring food quality by tracking expiration dates. The Kitchen Manager works closely with other team members, such as the volunteer coordinator and development staff, to support food deliveries and maintain kitchen standards during events involving teen moms and community champions. This role upholds Hope House Colorado’s core values, fostering a respectful and supportive environment, and directly impacting the physiological and educational foundations of the children served. The Early Learning Center operates on a philosophy rooted in nurturing the whole child in a play-based learning environment. It emphasizes building a strong social-emotional foundation where children feel valued, loved, and secure. Catering to children of teen moms and staff aged six weeks to five years, the ELC is a place of belonging where children are free to explore and grow. The Kitchen Manager’s work supports this philosophy by ensuring nutritious meals that contribute to the children’s overall development and well-being.
