Volunteers of America Mid-States (VOA) is a reputable non-profit organization serving the Mid-States region across four states. VOA Mid-States offers a full-time Kitchen Manager position based in Louisville, Kentucky within the VOA Home Program. This non-exempt, hourly role reports directly to the Program Manager. The Kitchen Manager is responsible for supervising all kitchen activities at Unity House, including planning and preparing menus, ordering food and supplies, managing kitchen staff, and maintaining budgets. A critical aspect of this role is ensuring nutritional meals are served to participants while maintaining compliance with licensure, food safety, and nutritional standards as regulated by state and federal agencies. The Kitchen Manager also serves as a role model for the agency’s core values of integrity, compassion, commitment, and justice, both internally and in external interactions.

- High school diploma or GED
- related experience in food preparation and service
- associate degree in culinary arts preferred
- valid Kentucky driver license with satisfactory driving record
- ability to be CPR/First Aid certified within 30 days of employment
- successful completion of criminal background check
- successful completion of sex offender registry check
- knowledge of Health Department and USDA regulations
- ability to operate within budget
- ability to recruit, hire, train, motivate and evaluate staff
- adherence to agency personnel policies and procedures
