The Line Cook position within Atlas Restaurant Group is an essential role responsible for executing the full cooking process in the kitchen using the assigned recipes at various locations. This role requires a skilled and experienced cook who prepares and measures ingredients, grills, fries, broils, bakes, and sautés dishes with precision and care. The Line Cook ensures menu items are cooked to proper doneness and taste, adjusts seasoning and temperature as needed, and meticulously sets plate presentations to deliver an exceptional dining experience. This position involves full responsibility for managing all aspects of an assigned cooking station including maintaining sanitation standards and proper product rotation in line with company guidelines.
The Line Cook will work with seasonal ingredients and is encouraged to participate in developing new menu items. This role offers the opportunity to master multiple kitchen stations, including Grill, Sautee, Fryer, or Garde Manger, enhancing culinary skills and building a diverse skill set. While no supervisory responsibilities are associated with this position, the Line Cook plays a vital role in supporting the back of house operations and maintaining cleanliness of work areas through regular and thorough cleaning activities.
Employees in this position will need to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with medium to high foot traffic and typical noise levels of a restaurant kitchen. The ability to remain calm and focused under pressure while delivering high standards of quality and cleanliness is crucial. Depending on local regulations, a food handler's certification may be required. Compensation for this role varies by location but generally ranges from $13.25 to $27.00 per hour, reflecting the competitive nature of the hospitality sector.
