The primary responsibility of the Housekeeper/Room Attendant is to perform routine cleaning and servicing duties to maintain guest rooms to the highest standard while following the guidance of the Executive Housekeeper. In addition to ensuring that guest rooms are clean and comfortable, the Housekeeper/Room Attendant serves as a positive representative of the hotel by providing attentive and courteous service to guests. Job duties include preparing guest rooms according to hotel standards by making beds, dusting furniture, sweeping or vacuuming floors, cleaning windows and mirrors, sanitizing bathrooms, emptying trash containers, replenishing amenities, replacing linens, and aligning furniture in accordance with the floor plan. The role also involves maintaining cleanliness of the supply cart and updating room assignment sheets meticulously. Additionally, the Housekeeper/Room Attendant must be knowledgeable about the hotel’s lost and found policy and take responsibility for securing and reporting any forgotten items promptly. Attention to guest needs and delivering excellent service are central to this role. Housekeepers/Room Attendants must be proactive in anticipating guest inquiries, providing information about property locations, amenities, and local attractions, and resolving any guest complaints promptly to ensure satisfaction. This position requires excellent communication skills, flexibility with scheduling, physical stamina to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
