The Customs Entry Specialist is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving documentation discrepancies with both customers and international origins. This role involves auditing commercial documents, applying harmonized tariff schedule codes to ensure accurate duty assessments, and ensuring compliance with all federal requirements. The position handles a range of customs brokerage activities along with general office and data entry tasks. It requires excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with clients, overseas offices, and various carriers. The role also demands precision in preparing customs entries and overseeing the clearance process. Working Tuesday through Saturday, the candidate must be based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to support UPS's operational needs. As a permanent employee, this position may require weekend rotations and holiday work, reflecting the dynamic nature of customs brokerage and freight forwarding services. The right candidate will be proficient in basic computer skills, have a clear understanding of customs operations and regulations, and demonstrate attention to detail essential for maintaining compliance and operational efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
