The role of Night Shift Traffic Control Technician II at RoadSafe Traffic Systems is a critical position focused on maintaining safety and efficiency at traffic control project sites, primarily during nighttime operations. As a Traffic Control Technician II, the individual will be responsible for setting up, maintaining, and dismantling traffic lane closures, particularly on state highways and other roadways, ensuring the safety of both workers and motorists. The technician will be adept at operating specialized equipment such as management of traffic (MOT) vehicles and truck mounted attenuators (TMAs), which are essential for protecting work zones and personnel. Duties will involve arranging temporary construction signs, positioning arrow boards, and placing traffic cones or other safety devices accurately to meet project specifications. Continuous monitoring of work zones throughout the night shift is crucial to ensure all safety measures remain in place and effective. This role requires considerable independence as well as collaboration with the traffic control crew to serve project goals effectively. Additional responsibilities include the assembly, delivery, and pick-up of safety products at various job sites according to contractor instructions. The technician will perform general maintenance and repairs on equipment, abide strictly by safety regulations and company policies, and be prepared to perform other related duties as needed. The position demands a strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to operate delivery vehicles of varying sizes with confidence. Also required is the ability to read and interpret traffic control plans to ensure proper implementation on-site. Candidates must hold a valid driver's license, have 1-3 years of experience in traffic control with at least 2,000 field hours, and pass background and drug screenings compliant with federal DOT regulations. Successful completion of the ATSSA Traffic Control Technician (TCT) intermediate training course is required, alongside readiness to participate in an on-call rotating schedule.   • Valid driver’s license
  • 1-3 years of experience and 2,000 field hours in traffic control
  • Must be able to pass a background check, including motor vehicle records check
  • Must successfully pass a drug test and meet federal DOT requirements
  • Wear proper safety equipment (work boots with safety toe, hard hat, safety glasses, and safety vest)
  • Basic reading and writing ability
  • Must be able to read plans and ensure traffic control plans are implemented
