The role available is focused on the chemical cleaning of titanium aerospace parts, a critical step in the manufacturing process that ensures parts meet the highest quality standards. This position involves working with various chemical processes such as acid etching, Chem-Brite, Flash Etch, Swab Etch, Alkaline Clean, Strip, and Mask Preparation, which are essential for preparing titanium parts for further manufacturing steps. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing these chemical procedures while maintaining compliance with safety and quality guidelines. Training for this position currently operates on a Friday-to-Sunday schedule from 4 AM to 4 PM, transitioning to an overnight Friday-to-Sunday shift from 4 PM to 4 AM upon completion.
In this role, you will perform specific chemical applications on aerospace parts, handle machinery such as forklifts and overhead cranes for moving parts, and ensure the work environment remains clean and compliant with company and governmental standards. Important responsibilities include supporting the company's commitment to environmental safety and maintaining adherence to government contracting policies. Participation in Lean manufacturing practices such as 5S and Autonomous Maintenance is also a key aspect of this position. - High school diploma or GED
- at least 6 months machining experience
- minimum of 2 years in manufacturing
- ability to read blueprints, schematics and diagrams
- must be certifiable to operate forklift
- must be US Citizen or Green Card Holder
- proficient in English verbal and written communication
- reliable attendance
- able to lift up to 50 pounds
- able to stand for long periods
- able to wear full encapsulating/air fed body suit when required
- able to work in loud machine shop environment
