The Kitchen Manager role at BJ's Restaurants is a crucial leadership position responsible for the effective daily management of all kitchen and restaurant functions during opening, mid-day, or closing shifts. This full-time, exempt management role requires spending over 50 percent of working time on managerial duties involving significant independent judgment and discretion. The Kitchen Manager oversees hiring, supervising, and training restaurant team members to ensure the delivery of Gold Standard guest service. The manager will handle operational execution tasks such as conducting daily team briefings, managing repairs, handling the Restaurant Risk Review audit, and driving local restaurant marketing efforts. They ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations while maintaining food and beverage quality, safety, and sanitation standards. The role also involves inventory management, ordering, and supervising food prep production. In addition to operational responsibilities, the Kitchen Manager coaches, mentors, and disciplines team members to foster a motivated and high-performing team. They play an essential part in guest relations management and guest recovery to maintain the reputation for excellence that BJ's Restaurants is known for.
