The Department Manager at World Wide Wings holds a critical role in the efficient and successful operation of the restaurant. Whether overseeing the Heart of House (HOH), the Bar Department, or the Hospitality section, the manager drives all aspects of department management including staffing, training, performance coaching, and profitability. These managers work closely with the General Manager to maintain safe working environments, enhance guest experiences, and implement company policies and procedures. As a Department Manager, you will lead your team in delivering food, beverage, and service excellence, manage inventory and vendor relationships, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and spearhead sales initiatives tailored to your department. More specifically, the Heart of House Manager is responsible for managing all activities related to food quality, order accuracy, portion control, and menu adherence. They ensure all team members meet established quality standards and are trained consistently on food safety and product specifications. This role includes inventory control, order management, and close cooperation with food vendors to guarantee the highest product quality. The Bar Department Manager is charged with overseeing the bar operations, including inventory management for beer, wine, and liquor, maintaining compliance with Responsible Alcohol Service (RAS) standards, and creating effective incentive programs to boost sales. This role also requires handling administrative functions such as invoice processing and end-of-day operations. The Hospitality Manager focuses on ensuring an outstanding guest experience in the dining room by supervising servers, managing team schedules, and keeping a safe and welcoming environment for both guests and staff. This role also supports local restaurant marketing and sales promotions to grow customer engagement. All Department Managers play an instrumental part in recruitment, training, and team development, ensuring each department is staffed adequately according to the company’s business needs and staffing guidelines. They conduct regular performance reviews, facilitate development plans for team members, and partner with other managers to foster a collaborative work environment. These managers are also responsible for upholding company standards, monitoring restaurant equipment, and addressing maintenance issues promptly. This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively within a fast-paced environment, and excellent communication abilities. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with at least two years of restaurant or retail management experience; experience with full bar operations is preferred. Physical demands include the ability to stand, walk, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds regularly. This role also requires a valid driver's license for travel between units and passing a satisfactory background check.
