Currently, New Hampshire Hospital is seeking to fill a Full-Time Chef I position on the 2nd shift. In addition to meal preparation oversight, this position involves record-keeping duties including temperature logs, waste logs, pre-service checklists, and daily assignment sheets. The Chef I actively supports the efficient operation of the patient tray line, ensuring timely meal delivery. This position demands a hands-on leadership style that involves coaching, counseling, and participating in personnel evaluations and disciplinary processes. Training employees in proper kitchen procedures, sanitation, food safety, recipe adherence, and dish handling is a critical element of this role. The Chef I also contributes to long-range planning activities related to staffing and menu management, including using computerized systems for recipe management and inventory control. Physical requirements include the ability to sustain continuous physical activity typical of kitchen work, such as standing for long periods, frequent reaching, bending, and lifting. Applicants should possess at minimum a high school diploma or equivalent and a current ServSafe certification or be willing to obtain certification within the first year. Experience in commercial or institutional food service settings is preferred, highlighting the importance of a background in managing food prep and kitchen operations efficiently and safely.
