Meow Wolf is currently seeking a Cook to join its Food & Beverage team. This role is essential to the success of the culinary operations, contributing both to the preparation and quality of menu offerings. The Cook will work in a dynamic, fast-paced kitchen environment, adhering to stringent food safety practices while maintaining a high standard of service. Reporting directly to the Food & Beverage Manager, the Cook will prepare a wide variety of menu items by following standardized recipes and portion controls. This position requires an individual who is dependable, communicative, and able to collaborate well with other team members to ensure the seamless execution of food preparation and guest satisfaction.
The role demands flexibility, as the work schedule may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. The Cook must also comply with New Mexico Health Code and Environmental Department standards, guaranteeing food safety and sanitary conditions. Physical stamina is a key requirement since the role involves standing for long periods, handling repetitive motions, and lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds. An understanding of allergens and menu ingredients is critical for providing excellent customer service and customization of orders.
Compensation for this position starts at $21 per hour, reflecting the importance of the role within Meow Wolf's hospitality framework. - Must be 18 years of age or older
- proven experience working as a cook or prep cook
- possess a food handler card from a New Mexico approved food handler program
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- ability to work in a fast-paced and teamwork-oriented environment
- excellent communication and time management skills
- flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- strong service skills and a welcoming demeanor
- bilingual preferred, especially but not limited to English and Spanish
