The General Manager in Training (GMIT) position at Cinemark Robinson Township and XD is a full-time role aimed at cultivating the next generation of theater leadership. This role presents an immersive, hands-on training program lasting about nine weeks, where participants gain foundational knowledge of theater operations under the mentorship of experienced General Managers and Cinemark's Service Center team. The GMIT program is designed to build essential leadership capabilities while enabling trainees to actively manage daily theater functions. Candidates in this role will learn everything from operational management and financial oversight to team leadership and customer service excellence. Following training, graduates will be expected to relocate within the region to assume General Manager duties at a high-volume Cinemark theater. The role offers comprehensive exposure to business and operational facets including budgeting, financial analysis, labor and scheduling management, inventory oversight, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. Trainees will have opportunities to lead teams, coach staff, and foster a positive working culture contributing to memorable guest experiences. The GMIT is also entrusted with acting as Manager on Duty, where real-time decision-making and problem-solving skills are put to the test. Flexibility is crucial as work schedules include evenings, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the entertainment industry's busy periods. This position suits highly motivated individuals who exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and a passion for customer service. Candidates must be at least 18 years old (21 where alcohol is served) with a high school diploma or GED preferred; prior theater management experience is required. The role involves physical activity including frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting, typical for a fast-paced hospitality environment.
