The House Attendant role at Residence Inn Portland/Scarborough requires an individual committed to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and maintenance throughout the hotel property. This hourly position is based at the Residence Inn Portland/Scarborough located at 800 Roundwood Dr, Scarborough, ME 04074. The House Attendant is responsible for ensuring all assigned areas and equipment are clean and properly maintained to meet hotel standards. Key duties include buffing marble floors daily, shampooing carpets and furniture as needed, and assisting with luggage in a friendly and efficient manner. The role also demands handling items for the Lost and Found according to hotel policies and providing timely delivery of items such as express checkouts and newspapers to guestrooms. Additionally, the House Attendant may be required to clean guestrooms as necessary and assist with emergency procedures. Maintenance of hotel equipment and storage areas is an important part of the job, along with completing special projects assigned by the Housekeeping Manager. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a service-oriented attitude, and maintain guest satisfaction through attentive and courteous service. Physical stamina is essential, as the job requires the ability to exert forces up to 100 pounds occasionally and stand throughout an entire shift. • High school diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred
• must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
• ability to stand during entire shift
• must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner
