Insomniac is currently seeking a highly motivated, proactive Production Runner to join their Back of House Department. This position is a hands-on role with the responsibility of supporting the logistical and operational aspects of event production. Reporting directly to the Back of House Manager, the Production Runner plays an integral role in ensuring the smooth execution of daily duties throughout live events. This role requires physical presence on-site and is not a remote position. The ideal candidate is someone who not only thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment but also possesses a genuine passion for dance culture and live event production.
The Production Runner’s primary responsibilities include providing transportation services for personnel during show days, including airport and hotel pick-ups and drop-offs, typically using either a personal or company-provided vehicle. The role involves running varied errands such as arranging department meals, managing laundry services, grocery shopping, package delivery, equipment rentals, and coffee runs. Coordination of large food orders and grocery deliveries to venues is essential, as is assisting with general production-related duties to support the production team. The Production Runner is also tasked with maintaining accurate expense records, including cash and receipts, and performing light administrative work such as making copies, posting signs, and managing cash reconciliations. Maintaining strict confidentiality is critical in this role as it involves sensitive information and trusted interactions.
This position requires excellent multitasking skills, a commitment to punctuality, reliability, professionalism, and courteous behavior. Working long hours of 10 to 18 hours on typical show days is expected, along with the ability to work during evenings and weekends to meet production deadlines. The work environment can be challenging with loud noise levels, busy settings, and sometimes extreme weather conditions. Candidates must be at least 21 years old, possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, and demonstrate safe driving habits. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively while providing friendly and personable support is vital.
