The Sous Chef position at Bon Appetit is a dynamic and rewarding role pivotal to the success of the Culinary Department within a hospitality facility. With an annual salary ranging from $65,000 to $75,000, this role offers a unique and exciting opportunity for a culinary professional eager to lead and innovate. The Sous Chef is responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in managing kitchen operations, including supervision of hourly associates, preparation of diverse food items, and development of daily menus with a focus on creativity and quality. This role requires a balance of hands-on cooking expertise and leadership skills to ensure smooth and effective culinary operations.
In this position, you will play a key role in planning menus, executing catering events, and rolling out new culinary programs in partnership with the company’s marketing and culinary teams. You will also support cost control and expenditure management efforts, an essential component of maintaining efficiency and profitability. - Education equivalent to an associate degree or significant culinary experience
- previous kitchen management or supervisory experience
- familiarity with catering operations
- experience with cost control and menu planning
- strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
- computer literacy including Microsoft Office and email
- ability to work flexible hours and participate in client satisfaction activities
- ServSafe certification preferred
