This position is offered by an aviation maintenance organization dedicated to ensuring the highest level of safety and compliance in the tracking and management of aircraft components. The company operates within the aerospace industry, providing critical support services that include auditing, maintenance tracking, and compliance verification for life-limited and hard-time parts on aircraft. They leverage specialized maintenance software systems such as Ramco and AirVault to keep meticulous records essential for the safe operation of aircraft. The organization's primary mission is to uphold rigorous maintenance standards and ensure all operational components meet stringent regulatory requirements outlined in the Maintenance Time Limits Manual (MTLM) and Maintenance Planning Document (MPD).
The role of the Maintenance Records Auditor is a pivotal one within this aviation maintenance environment. The main purpose of this position is to audit maintenance, repair, overhaul, and inspection information of life-limited and hard time parts to ensure accurate and complete tracking within the company's maintenance software database, specifically Ramco. The auditor plays a critical role in verifying the correctness of component tracking, identifying and resolving any errors that may affect safety and compliance.
The Maintenance Records Auditor conducts comprehensive back-to-birth audits on vital aircraft components such as engines, landing gear, auxiliary power units (APUs), thrust reversers, and batteries. Ensuring these components are tracked accurately in accordance with maintenance programs, manuals, and airworthiness directives is central to the role. A significant focus of the role includes auditing fan blades to verify compliance with eddy current inspection requirements, following regulatory directives like AD2017-17-18. The auditor reviews documentation for accuracy and completeness and updates component configurations as necessary.
Additionally, the auditor maintains ongoing communication with repair providers to exchange information and ensure that all component records reflect any maintenance or part replacements accurately. This includes auditing engine and landing gear logbooks before and after repair, updating life limit tracking for APUs, and ensuring correct installation and database updating for all aircraft piece parts. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to navigate multiple software systems to verify data integrity.
The position requires at least a high school diploma or GED, along with experience in records auditing or related problem-solving work. Preferred candidates will have an associate's degree in an aviation-related field and experience in aircraft maintenance. The ability to read and interpret technical manuals, safety rules, and maintenance procedures is essential, as is the capability to communicate effectively in writing and orally. The auditor must demonstrate strong reasoning and problem-solving skills, using data to draw accurate conclusions and make informed decisions within established policies and precedents.
Physically, the role involves the ability to lift weights up to 50 pounds occasionally and does not require travel. The work environment is typically office or shop-based without exposure to extreme conditions. This role is crucial to ensuring the safety and reliability of aircraft by maintaining an accurate and comprehensive maintenance records system, contributing directly to the operational safety and regulatory compliance of the aviation fleet.
