The Facilities Serviceperson supports school operations by disposing of trash correctly, operating heavy equipment, performing minor repairs, and maintaining custodial supplies and equipment. This is a nonexempt position classified under pay grade FA1401, offering an hourly wage ranging from $15.84 to $27.29, with a night shift differential of $0.35 per hour if applicable. New hires will commence employment at the minimum salary of the assigned range. The job follows the 261-day work calendar established by the School Board of Broward County. The Facilities Serviceperson position requires adherence to safety protocols and compliance with federal and state laws as well as school board policies. Additionally, ongoing training and professional development are encouraged to enhance skills related to custodial and maintenance tasks.   • Ability to complete the Basic Facilities Service job related training program, offered by Broward County Public Schools and receive a Basic Facilities Service certification within the probationary period of employment
  • Ability to perform custodial work
  • Ability to operate labor saving devices such as shampoo and scrubbing machines, wet and dry vacuums, plus other heavy labor-saving devices in the schools
  • Ability to do heavy lifting, climb ladders to replace light bulbs and filters from air conditioning equipment
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions in English on cleaning and equipment operation
