We are currently seeking a passionate and knowledgeable sommelier to join our team. This role is designed for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced yet intimate setting and who has a genuine love for wines that are thoughtfully selected and constantly curated. The sommelier will play a pivotal role in augmenting the dining experience by managing all facets of wine service with expertise and enthusiasm. Responsibilities include organizing and preparing wines for service, overseeing inventory management as shipments arrive, and actively engaging with both guests and staff to elevate the wine program’s presence and service standards. The sommelier will also participate in the dining room operations and special events, performing varied duties ranging from wine service to assisting with food and cocktail delivery when necessary. This position also involves collaborating closely with the Executive Chef and Beverage Manager to ensure efficient provisioning and purchasing of supplies, maintaining beverage cost controls, and adhering to company and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will enforce sanitary practices for both food and beverage handling, uphold the restaurant's professional image, and foster a positive guest service culture by responding effectively to guest concerns. A key component of the role is employee development and education, including training new staff on the wine program and service enhancements. To succeed as JUN’s sommelier, candidates must hold a TABC permit from Harris County and be eligible to work in the United States.   • Must have previous experience as a sommelier
  • Must be able to interact with all different types of guest
  • Knowledge of computers including MS Word and Excel
  • Proficient in food and beverage planning and preparation
  • Proficient in purchasing and sanitation practices
  • Familiarity with security procedures and company policies and procedures
  • Experience in personnel management, recordkeeping, and preparation of reports
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
