This position is that of an Aircraft Ramp Agent, a crucial role within the operations team that supports all ground handling aspects of the airline. The role involves loading, unloading, servicing, and directing customer aircraft efficiently and safely. Ramp Agents are responsible for safeguarding customers' baggage, air cargo, and airmail from weather, loss, theft, damage, or destruction. They also handle the physical movement of heavy items associated with air travel, requiring strength and stamina to lift, push, pull, and carry weights regularly. Additionally, ramp agents operate motorized equipment including belt loaders, pushback tugs, and deicers while maintaining communication with wing walkers to ensure safe aircraft pushbacks.
This full-time role requires candidates to be residents of the state, have a valid in-state driver's license, and meet security and safety standards by passing background checks and drug screenings. The job is physically demanding, involving walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, crawling, and working in cramped or elevated spaces as needed. The candidate will be responsible for completing paperwork and entering relevant work assignments into the company's information systems. Ramp and SIDA training to gain airport authority identification security is mandatory and provided upon hiring.
The ideal candidate has at least one year of relevant experience, strong communication skills for interacting with team members and supervisors via radio or verbally, and a professional demeanor. - must be able to walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop on a frequent basis and for extended periods
- must be able to work in cramped or high places
