The role of Housekeeper and Laundry Aide at Mission Valley Post Acute is vital to supporting the facility’s mission of providing a clean, orderly, and safe environment. This full-time position pays between $19 and $20 per hour and is tasked with maintaining cleanliness in all public and resident areas. The Housekeeper’s duties are designed to ensure that all spaces are hygienic, free of obstacles, and free from unpleasant odors which could impact the health or comfort of residents and staff alike. In this role, the Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning and maintaining various areas including lobbies, restrooms, drinking fountains, floors, resident rooms, and bathrooms. The position requires meticulous attention to detail to clean and remove dust, dirt, and food debris from walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, and dispensers. Additionally, the Housekeeper empties trash cans, replaces liners, sweeps, and mops floors. They must also maintain handrails clean and free of debris to ensure safety. Safety is a critical aspect of the job, as the Housekeeper must follow proper safety protocols while using cleaning supplies and equipment. This includes placing caution signs where necessary and ensuring that hazardous materials are stored out of the reach of residents. Keeping housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas organized and sanitary is also a key responsibility. The Housekeeper acts as an important liaison who communicates with the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, and Director of Nursing to report any resident safety issues or supply needs. This ensures that concerns are promptly addressed and that the environment remains conducive to healing and well-being. Ideal candidates for the Housekeeper and Laundry Aide position will have excellent customer service skills, a positive attitude, and strong time-management abilities. The ability to work independently or part of a team is essential. Though there are no supervisory responsibilities, the role demands a high level of reliability and integrity. Previous experience in a long-term care setting is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates should hold at least a high school diploma or GED.
