The role of the Housekeeping staff member involves performing routine and scheduled cleaning activities throughout the community. This includes cleaning common areas, resident rooms, and bathrooms by dusting, vacuuming, and making beds according to guidelines and schedules established by the Housekeeping Director. In addition to cleaning duties, the role involves managing linen and laundry supplies to guarantee that residents’ needs are consistently met. The Housekeeper must maintain a thorough understanding of the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all chemicals and cleaning supplies used within the facility to ensure proper handling and use. Regular attendance at training sessions and compliance with all regulations regarding residents' rights are also essential components of this position. The role requires physical strength and stamina, as tasks often include bending, lifting, and moving items weighing more than twenty-five pounds, along with prolonged periods of walking and standing. Effective communication and teamwork skills are necessary as the housekeeper will coordinate laundry services with other departments and report any incidents or accidents promptly to management.
