The role being offered is for a Housekeeping Attendant on a PRN (pro re nata or as-needed) basis during night shifts. Reporting to the Environmental Services Manager, the Housekeeping Attendant is expected to skillfully operate floor equipment, make basic operational decisions in response to hospital floor conditions, and maintain high cleanliness standards. A key part of the role involves managing waste, including trash, linens, and regulated medical waste, while adhering strictly to safety and hazardous waste protocols. The duties extend beyond routine cleaning. The attendant is responsible for sanitizing restrooms, cleaning isolation and surgical rooms following stringent sterilization standards, and handling cleaning equipment safely and efficiently. Attention to detail is crucial as the incumbent cleans patient rooms daily, performs discharge cleaning to prepare rooms for incoming patients quickly, and handles specialized maintenance tasks such as buffing, stripping, waxing, and floor extraction. The role also includes setting up for meetings and other projects as needed, illustrating the position's flexibility and importance within the hospital's ecosystem.
