The Housekeeper - SNL position at Zoo Knoxville is a full-time, temporary role that primarily supports the operations and housekeeping departments by maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and sanitary standards of the zoo grounds and facilities during the busy Smoky Night Lights event period from November through March. This job pays $15.00 hourly and requires working a late shift from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Under the supervision of the Housekeeping Coordinator, the housekeeper plays a crucial role in ensuring guests enjoy a positive experience with clean public areas, restrooms, pathways, and other critical spaces throughout the zoo. Responsibilities extend beyond routine cleaning to include waste disposal, restocking supplies, window and sign cleaning, minor grounds maintenance, and assistance with setting up or removing special exhibits and events. The position demands hands-on involvement, with duties ranging from operating light maintenance tools to snow removal and adhering to various safety and regulatory standards. The role requires teamwork, effective communication, and a proactive approach to maintaining the property’s appearance and functionality.
