The Housekeeper role at American House Senior Living Communities plays a critical part in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall comfort of the facility and resident apartments. Reporting to the Housekeeping Supervisor, this position is responsible for ensuring that the environment is sanitary and inviting, reflecting the company’s high standards of care. The housekeeper must provide excellent customer service to residents, engaging with them respectfully while performing daily cleaning duties that include vacuuming, mopping, dusting, disinfecting, and trash removal. This role also involves tasks such as bed making and linen service where applicable, as well as handling personal laundry services for residents when required.
In addition to apartment cleaning, housekeepers maintain the cleanliness of the entire building, including monitoring public restrooms to ensure they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies throughout the day. They are also tasked with transporting trash and waste to designated disposal areas, addressing maintenance concerns by noting and reporting areas or items needing repair, and complying with all applicable regulatory standards pertaining to cleanliness and safety. The Housekeeper contributes significantly to the resident experience by helping to uphold a clean and comfortable living environment, which is essential for the dignity and health of senior residents.
This role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to interact courteously and effectively with residents and other staff members. The housekeeper may also assist with prospective resident visits, supporting the community’s efforts to welcome new residents. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor or Executive Director, reflecting the dynamic nature of residential senior care.
