The Housekeeper position at Hebrew SeniorLife is an essential worker role pivotal to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This role involves performing a variety of housekeeping tasks and cleaning projects to ensure all areas meet established hygiene and safety standards. The Housekeeper is responsible for daily cleaning duties including floor and carpet care, room maintenance, and supporting resident care by responding to requests and emergencies. The position demands a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to facilitate smooth operations and maintain the organization’s standards. Candidates will be expected to handle sensitive situations, including exposure to potentially infectious materials, and must be able to work effectively even under challenging weather conditions. This role requires the ability to work independently after training while demonstrating flexibility to meet the diverse needs of the residents and team. The Housekeeper also plays a part in fostering a culture of caring, approachability, and integrity within the facility. Physical demands include prolonged standing and walking, lifting weights up to 70 pounds, and using various cleaning equipment safely and efficiently. • Exposure to medical waste and unsanitary conditions, odors, and hazardous chemicals
• Ability to push/pull housekeeping cart, mop and bucket, vacuum, use of floor equipment, climbing ladder to 6 or 8 feet
