The Housekeeper role at Peak View Behavioral Health is a full-time position based in Colorado Springs offering competitive hourly pay ranging from $18 to $19 depending on experience. The position is essential in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and sanitary conditions of the patient care and administrative environments within the facility. The Housekeeper’s primary responsibility is to ensure that all assigned areas are kept in a clean, orderly, and hygienic state, thereby supporting both the physical comfort and health of patients, staff, and visitors.
In this role, the Housekeeper is expected to perform a variety of cleaning and custodial tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and polishing surfaces throughout the facility. They operate specialized commercial cleaning equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, carpet cleaners, washers, and dryers to maintain floors, carpets, furniture, and linens. Special attention is given to infection control procedures, including the proper handling and disposal of infectious waste and the use of appropriate germicides and cleaning chemicals following safety guidelines. The Housekeeper is also responsible for laundering bed linens, remaking beds following patient discharges, and arranging rooms for meetings and special functions.
The role requires vigilance for safety risks such as slips and falls during cleaning activities and adherence to environmental safety standards including Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) instructions for chemical use. The Housekeeper is expected to maintain inventory of cleaning and linen supplies, ensuring that all necessary materials are stocked and equipment is properly cleaned and stored at the end of each shift. This position supports the hospital’s infection control policies and helps facilitate a clean, supportive environment conducive to patient recovery and staff efficiency.
Peak View Behavioral Health values candidates with previous housekeeping experience in hospital or healthcare settings, although commercial cleaning backgrounds are also considered valuable. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
