The role of Host/Hostess at Shady Grove Medical Center is a crucial position within the patient care team, focused on enhancing patient experience through exceptional hospitality. This position involves providing patients with attentive meal services, ensuring that meal selections are recorded, trays are properly built and delivered, and trays are efficiently picked up after meals. The Host/Hostess works closely with nursing and other departments to maintain high standards of patient satisfaction and smooth communication. In this role, you will be responsible for breaking down meal carts in the dish room and maintaining cleanliness, as well as stocking assigned areas on the tray line to ensure operational efficiency. The ability to multitask and interact professionally with patients and coworkers is essential. Working hours typically fall during the week from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with every other weekend requiring morning shift availability from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm or 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act, reflecting its hourly wage pay structure. The offered pay range is $18.00 to $22.79 per hour.
