As a Host/Hostess, you will be responsible for managing reservations both over the phone and in person, maintaining an organized seating chart, and keeping the dining area and service podium clean and well-stocked. You will assist servers in delivering exceptional service, including serving guests beverages, breads, and butter, and promptly clearing tables. This position requires a friendly demeanor, strong communication skills, and the ability to remain composed in a fast-paced environment with varying shift schedules. The Host/Hostess role is essential in maintaining the flow and efficiency of our dining outlet, enhancing guest satisfaction through attentive service and attention to detail. This position offers the opportunity to develop valuable skills in hospitality, guest relations, and food and beverage service standards. The role demands physical stamina due to prolonged standing, walking, and the ability to handle items weighing up to 30 pounds regularly. Ideal candidates will possess a current Food Handler Card or be in the process of obtaining one and demonstrate knowledge of state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations, particularly regarding the responsible service of alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests. A basic understanding of food and beverage preparation, service etiquette, and appropriate table settings is crucial, as is proficiency in English for effective communication.
