The role of a guest service team member in this hotel focuses primarily on providing guests with a warm and friendly welcome upon their arrival at the dining outlet. This position requires directing guests to appropriate seating areas, managing reservations both by phone and in person, and ensuring overall guest satisfaction throughout their dining experience. Responsibilities include greeting guests promptly and graciously, seating them comfortably with menus, and maintaining cleanliness and readiness of tables. The role also involves assisting with food and beverage service by providing guests with beverages, breads, and butter, and ensuring timely replenishment when necessary. This position requires the team member to uphold all health and safety standards, using standard hotel cleaning products and performing regular cleaning duties assigned by supervisors. Other essential tasks include managing supply inventories at service stations, tidying the service podium, assisting servers with order delivery and table pre-busing, and performing any additional duties requested by supervisors to ensure smooth restaurant operations. Knowledge of state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations is essential, particularly concerning serving alcoholic beverages responsibly to minors and intoxicated guests. Candidates must possess at least a basic understanding of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations, and proper etiquette, along with familiarity with appropriate table settings and service ware. Communication skills in English sufficient for understanding guest inquiries and providing clear instructions are necessary. Physical demands of the role include the ability to transport items weighing up to 30 pounds continuously throughout shifts, frequent standing and walking, and the capacity to operate hand carts or trucks with loads up to 100 pounds. Ideal candidates will hold or be in the process of obtaining a current Food Handler Card, and will exhibit a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance at all times as per the team member handbook.
