The role available is that of a Host within the restaurant division of Sonesta. As a Host, your primary responsibility will be to welcome guests warmly as they arrive, seat them efficiently to balance server workloads, and manage overall guest seating logistics. This position involves managing waiting lists, alerting guests when tables are ready, and ensuring all guests feel attended to and valued throughout their visit. In addition to greeting and seating, this role requires handling payments responsibly, processing transactions according to company policies, and maintaining an accurate cash drawer balance at the end of shifts. The Host often collaborates with other team members across various departments to promote teamwork and enhance the quality of service delivered. The role may extend to processing take-out and room service orders and involves the use of up-selling techniques to contribute to restaurant revenue. Duties might also include clearing and resetting tables, assisting with opening tasks, and managing special guest requests or complaints, contributing to a seamless dining experience. Physical demands for this role include the ability to carry or lift items up to 50 pounds, move about the kitchen and dining areas effectively, and perform physical activities such as bending, stooping, and kneeling. Prior experience in cash handling or food service, coupled with basic reading, writing, and math skills, are necessary to succeed in this role.
