Hai Hospitality is currently seeking enthusiastic and personable Hosts to join their team at Uchi, Uchiko, and Uchiba. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about exceptional guest service and Japanese cuisine. Hosts at these locations play a vital role in managing reservations and walk-in guests, setting appropriate expectations, and enhancing the overall dining experience. The position offers a base pay plus tips, with averages around $22 per hour, emphasizing the importance of both service excellence and guest interaction. As a Host, you will also be responsible for providing cocktail service for guests during wait times, which enriches the guest experience and showcases the beverage program. 
The role demands a comprehensive understanding of the menu and Japanese culinary traditions, supported by peer-led training sessions designed to build expertise in beer, wine, and sake selections. Hosts must be adept at pacing the dining room by coordinating with other team members to ensure smooth table turnovers and a seamless flow of service. Effective communication is crucial in this capacity as Hosts frequently collaborate with servers and managers to accommodate guest preferences and special requests, ensuring individual guest needs are anticipated and met.
