The role of Host at Hai Hospitality’s restaurants is a pivotal position designed to enhance the guest experience from the moment they arrive until they are seated. Hosts play an essential role in managing reservations and walk-ins efficiently while setting the tone for a memorable dining experience. In this position, individuals are tasked with greeting and acknowledging guests, providing timely updates, and offering cocktail service to guests waiting for their tables. A critical element of the job involves learning about the menu, including the rich flavors of Japanese cuisine, and the beverage options such as beer, wine, and sake through peer-led training sessions. This knowledge enables hosts to engage guests meaningfully and enhance their anticipation for the meal ahead.
In addition to guest interaction, hosts are responsible for maintaining awareness of the dining room’s pace to ensure smooth and timely table turns. They coordinate with managers and servers to review and plan table placements and honor guest preferences and special requests. This role calls for individuals who are excellent communicators, capable of multitasking in a vibrant, fast-paced environment, and comfortable working collaboratively within a busy restaurant team. Hosts at Hai Hospitality earn an average of $22 per hour, which includes base pay plus tips.                 - Must be able to effectively communicate with guests and other employees
