Joining the Lettuce Entertain You team means becoming part of a company that values passion, creativity, and the drive to excel while providing comprehensive benefits, ongoing training, and opportunities for growth within a progressive and supportive culture. The employment type for the Host Staff position is typically part-time or full-time, with compensation competitive within the hospitality industry. The Host Staff at Miru play a critical role as the first point of contact for guests, ensuring a warm, friendly, and seamless experience from arrival to departure. The role involves greeting and seating guests promptly, managing reservations and guest inquiries both over the phone and in person, and maintaining accurate tracking of guest counts and wait times. Hosts assist in preserving the welcoming environment by engaging with guests courteously, effectively managing seating flow to optimize turnover and guest satisfaction, and supporting other front-of-house operations such as coat check duties. This position requires excellent communication skills, a polite and professional demeanor, and the ability to multitask calmly in a busy and sometimes noisy restaurant setting. Physical stamina is also important due to the demands of standing and walking throughout shifts and moving furniture and equipment as needed. In addition to direct guest interaction, Host Staff members are entrusted with safety compliance, including adherence to sanitation and food allergy protocols, operation of reservation and communication systems, and completion of alcohol awareness training. The ideal candidate for this role is a team player who thrives in a dynamic environment, demonstrates patience and tact when handling guest concerns, and possesses the flexibility to work various shifts including weekends. As part of Miru and the Lettuce Entertain You group, Hosts benefit from a supportive work atmosphere that promotes mental health and wellness, professional growth, and employee engagement through an array of perks such as restaurant discounts, paid vacation for qualifying employees, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and accident protection, domestic partner benefits, and a 401(k) plan.
