We are currently seeking a polished and welcoming Host to join our front-of-house team. This role is integral to creating an outstanding guest experience, as the Host serves as the first point of contact for all visitors. Reporting directly to the Assistant General Manager, the Host is expected to set the tone for guests' visits with professionalism, warmth, and a keen attention to detail. This position is well-suited for individuals passionate about hospitality and who thrive in refined, guest-centric environments. The Host’s responsibilities encompass multiple front-of-house areas, including the reception, dining room, kitchen equipment showroom, and the Hestan culinary wares department. This multifaceted role demands a strong interest in cooking and wine, backed by thorough knowledge of Hestan Napa’s range of products, food and beverage offerings, and service standards. Operationally, the Host manages the restaurant's reservation system, handles order processing via the Toast POS system, and conducts point-of-sale transactions for kitchen equipment and culinary wares through the Shopify system. Aside from the technical aspects, the Host must be well-versed in product details, including preparation methods, ingredient information, portion sizes, and key selling points. Complementing this is an understanding of the restaurant’s menu to confidently address guest inquiries and provide genuine, informed recommendations, ensuring every food and beverage service is exceptional. The position also requires adherence to all applicable liquor regulations, with the completion of the A.B.C. Responsible Beverage Service Certification and obtaining a California Food Handlers Card within 30 days of hire being mandatory. Working at Hestan Napa means being part of a team that values continuous learning and professional development. The Host is expected to attend regular meetings and training sessions, which include wine seminars, product workshops, and service improvement initiatives. This role offers a $25 to $28 per hour wage, dependent on experience, plus tips and commissions, reflecting the premium nature of the work environment and the skill set required. Employment is on-site in Napa, California, and the hiring process involves in-person applications during scheduled job fair events, underscoring the employer’s personal approach to recruitment and team integration.
