The role of Hospitality Lead at Surf Ranch is a crucial leadership position responsible for overseeing all deliverables related to guest services, particularly focusing on managing the team of Hospitality Servers and Bartenders. Reporting directly to the Director of Food & Beverage, this position plays a pivotal role in ensuring guests receive timely and high-quality food and beverage service throughout their visit. The Hospitality Lead acts as a bridge between kitchen staff and front-of-house employees, collaborating with chefs, cooks, and other team members to coordinate meal deliveries and uphold the highest standards of presentation and service.
In this role, the Hospitality Lead will manage daily operations to maintain cleanliness, organization, and guest satisfaction across all hospitality areas. Responsibilities include supervising the hospitality staff, managing inventory, placing orders, and ensuring that all guest dietary requirements and preferences are tracked and met with care. The Hospitality Lead must also enforce all standard operating procedures, uphold the health and safety regulations, and support other departments within Surf Ranch and its parent company, WaveCo.
Individuals in this position need exceptional leadership skills, the ability to prioritize tasks effectively, and a strong customer service orientation. They will play an integral role in the guest experience before and after surf sessions, ensuring that all guest needs are addressed, areas are presentable, and any issues are resolved promptly. As this role occasionally requires working overtime and managing multiple tasks simultaneously, the Hospitality Lead must be adaptable, responsible, and proactive in sustaining a smooth operational flow.
This position requires proficiency in using technological tools such as Microsoft Office, the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, and possessing a Food Handler card as required by California law. Candidates should also bring experience working within a resort or hospitality environment, showcasing their capacity to lead teams and drive excellent service standards. Physical stamina and the ability to perform activities such as standing for extended periods, lifting moderate weights, bending, and walking throughout the work shift are essential to succeeding in this dynamic role at Surf Ranch.
                - High school diploma or equivalent
 - Previous experience in hospitality or food and beverage service
 - Food Handler card required
 - Ability to communicate effectively in English
 - Strong leadership and organizational skills
 - Ability to work flexible hours including overtime
 - Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, and lift up to 50 lbs
 - Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
