The position of Portero at Harvard is a full-time role with a work schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, offering a competitive hourly wage of $19.75. The Portero plays a critical role within the building’s operations team, primarily responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, appearance, and general maintenance of all public and operational areas within the facility. This role requires a proactive individual who is ready to respond to special requests from building management and work orders to keep the environment in pristine condition. The responsibilities of the Portero encompass a wide range of duties focused on the upkeep of the building and its surroundings. From servicing all public and operational spaces to maintaining the plaza, parking areas, and exterior appearance of the building, the Portero helps create an inviting atmosphere. Specific tasks include ensuring elevators are clean and presentable, preserving the tidiness of the lobby and first impression areas, and keeping restrooms hygienic and stocked.
