The Assistant Pantry Cook position at Hilton Hawaiian Village is a critical role within the kitchen team, responsible for preparing a variety of cold dishes to the highest standards that Hilton is known for globally. This role involves preparing salads, fruits, dressings, cold meats, fish items, canapés, cold hors d'oeuvres, appetizers, and other pantry items according to standardized recipes or supervisor instructions to guarantee consistency in every dish served. The position requires attention to detail in maintaining food quality through proper storage and portion control, and it may involve handling heavy ingredients.
Working as an Assistant Pantry Cook involves contributing to the overall kitchen's efforts in delivering exceptional guest service coupled with financial success. Responsibilities include prepping food items such as soups, sauces, and salads, stocking and maintaining designated food stations, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to food sanitation standards, and practicing correct food handling and storage procedures compliant with federal, state, local, and company regulations. It's a role that demands a flexible schedule, often starting early in the morning around 6 a.m., with the possibility of working other shifts including weekends and holidays to meet business needs.
