Highmark Stadium serves as the vibrant and dynamic home to The Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC, a professional mens soccer team competing in the USL Championship, the second tier of American soccer. In addition to the Riverhounds, the organization proudly includes the Pittsburgh Riveters SC, a USL W League womens team established in 2025, as well as the nationally recognized Riverhounds Development Academy. Operating out of the AHN Montour Sports Complex and the picturesque Highmark Stadium located in Station Square, Pittsburgh, the organization enjoys a prime position along the citys iconic skyline. The stadium is also undergoing a significant growth phase, with planned expansion to a 15,000-seat capacity as part of an ambitious $125 million renovation and expansion project. The role of the Highmark Stadium Events Coordinator is a pivotal position within the organization, reporting directly to the Highmark Stadium General Manager and the President. The Events Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of event management at the stadium — from the inception or solicitation of events through meticulous planning, coordination, and flawless execution. This hands-on role places a premium on detailed execution and effective communication. The Events Coordinator acts as a critical liaison among clients, internal departments, vendors, and operations teams, ensuring that every event is delivered with seamless precision. The successful candidate will be adaptable and able to work nights and weekends as events demand, reflecting the dynamic nature of the sports and entertainment industry. This position involves coordinating diverse event operations, including load-in and load-out logistics, facility readiness, setup, teardown, and comprehensive post-event clean-up. The Events Coordinator will serve as the primary day-of contact for clients, vendors, and internal teams during events, facilitating smooth interactions and operations. Collaboration across various stadium departments such as operations, security, guest services, ticketing, facility maintenance, marketing, catering, food and beverage, parking, and transportation is essential to align event logistics efficiently. Furthermore, this role requires managing third-party vendors covering security, staging, and equipment rentals with responsibilities spanning from sourcing and contracting to coordination and onsite oversight. Client and stakeholder management is also key, requiring responsiveness to external clients including private events, concerts, and community partners. Supporting contract fulfillment and exploring upsell opportunities like premium experiences and hospitality add-ons contribute to the roles business development impact. Budgeting, reporting, and process improvement duties round out the role with a focus on drafting event budgets, monitoring expenses and revenue, and preparing detailed post-event reports and client feedback surveys. The Events Coordinator is encouraged to propose improvements to processes, checklists, and workflows that enhance operational efficiency, safety, and client satisfaction. Maintaining event calendars and operational communication ensures a well-organized and up-to-date event environment. Additional responsibilities include participation in special projects such as infrastructure modifications, facility upgrades, and event expansions. The coordinator will also support signature events including season kickoffs, festivals, and stadium activations. Occasionally, this role involves managing interns, volunteers, or part-time event staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.   • Bachelor's degree in sports management, event management, business administration, hospitality, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in event coordination, event sales, or a sports or entertainment environment or equivalent combination of experience
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage timelines under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with or managing vendors, contracts, sourcing, and logistics
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to lift moderate loads between 25 and 50 pounds
  • Ability to assist with setup and climb stairs
  • Availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as events require
