The role of Bartender at Rio Las Vegas is a critical position within the food and beverage department, reportable to management but without supervisory responsibilities. This position is a frontline service role that involves overseeing all aspects of bar operations during a given shift, including preparation, service, inventory control, and customer interaction. The bartender's fundamental duties include mixing and serving drinks to guests in accordance with prescribed recipes and portion sizes, maintaining a well-stocked and orderly bar, accurately handling cash transactions, and ensuring compliance with company policies regarding safety and health regulations. Further responsibilities include providing guidance to Apprentice Bartenders, managing the stock and supplies to meet business demands, and maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the bar area in line with county health standards. The bartender must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, and demonstrate flexibility with work hours which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime. This role requires physical stamina as it involves standing for long periods, frequent reaching and stooping, as well as lifting. Candidates will be expected to maintain professional conduct especially when handling intoxicated customers, ensuring customer satisfaction and safety. The pay range for this hourly position is $17.57, reflective of the industry standards for skilled bartending roles in Las Vegas.
