The Residence at Glastonbury is currently seeking to hire full-time Chefs to join their culinary team. This role offers an hourly wage ranging from $21 to $23, based on experience. The position includes weekend shifts as needed and offers excellent benefits starting from day one, including health, vision, dental coverage, 401k, paid time off, and holiday pay. Part-time associates working 24 to 29 hours per week are also eligible for paid time off and holiday pay. The Chef role at The Residence at Glastonbury involves more than just cooking; it includes creating a restaurant-style dining atmosphere that ensures residents enjoy every meal. The successful candidate will work closely with the Culinary Services Director and Executive Director to satisfy residents with diverse food and dining programs. Supporting the culinary team by assisting in supervising staff and helping to prepare and execute dining enhancement programs is a key part of this role. Maintaining cleanliness and safety in the kitchen and food storage areas is essential. The Chef will be responsible for opening or closing the kitchen, adhering to cleaning schedules, and ensuring proper food receipt, storage, and preparation according to company standards. Estimating food and supply needs daily or weekly and communicating with the food service director will be part of the job. Candidates will participate actively in preparing and cooking meals based on established recipes and approved menus. Accurate documentation of food, refrigeration, and freezer temperatures prior to service is required to maintain quality and safety standards. Chefs also ensure that snacks and beverages are readily available to residents at all times and that kitchen floors are clean and trash is disposed of appropriately. Additional responsibilities include assisting with food and supply transportation and storage, as well as the preparation and execution of special events, banquets, and themed meals.   • A high school diploma or GED is preferred
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a cook in a hospitality or healthcare environment
  • Serve Safe Certification
  • Able to read and follow recipes and printed production guides, cleaning schedules, and logs
  • Previous experience in health care or hospitality setting is preferred
  • Finger and hand dexterity to handle and manipulate instruments and equipment
  • Visual and auditory acuity
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of fifteen (15) lbs, and be able to carry objects
  • Must be able to push and pull carts, and continuously walk, sit and stand
  • Must be able to turn, crouch, kneel, stoop, bend below waist, and reach above shoulder height as tasks dictate
