The role of Receptionist at The Residence at Brookside is a part-time opportunity offering a competitive wage ranging from $17.00 to $19.00 per hour, dependent on experience. This position is critical as the receptionist serves as the first point of contact for residents, families, visitors, and professionals interacting with the community. The receptionist promotes the mission and core values of LCB Senior Living and the Residence by ensuring a warmly welcoming environment. Duties include managing incoming telephone calls and visitors in a courteous manner, handling mail and correspondence, recording guest meal charges, and maintaining the front desk with a high standard of organization. The receptionist also plays a vital role in supporting community growth by positively representing the Residence to potential residents and their families. Emergency response is an important aspect of this role, requiring calm and effective action when necessary. The position also entails attending training sessions, maintaining up-to-date community brochures, and ensuring excellent communication throughout daily operations. • A high school diploma or GED preferred
• Six months to one year prior reception experience in an office environment
• Knowledge of basic telephone reception systems and techniques
• Ability to handle emergency situations calmly
• Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing
• Must have finger and hand dexterity to manipulate instruments and equipment
• Must have visual and auditory acuity
• Ability to lift at least 15 pounds and carry objects
• Capacity to push and pull carts and continuously walk, sit and stand as needed
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as turning, crouching, kneeling, stooping, bending below waist and reaching above shoulder height
• Must use good body mechanics
• Must be able to type and use a computer
