Located at 3420 Whitehurst Road, Greensboro, North Carolina, Harmony Square is a respected senior living community dedicated to providing high-quality dining services tailored to meet the nutritional needs of its residents. The establishment prides itself on offering a comfortable, welcoming environment where residents receive personalized and nutritious meals, enhancing their quality of life. Harmony Square operates as a specialized assisted living facility where the dining experience plays a crucial role in the residents' daily well-being. With a clear focus on customer service, nutritional standards, and compliance with health regulations, Harmony Square stands out as an employer that values dedication, professionalism, and compassionate care. The Dining Services Director (DSD) role at Harmony Square encompasses comprehensive oversight of the food service operations within the community. This full-time leadership position involves managing all aspects of the dining services department including the hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating of staff members to ensure a high standard of food preparation and service. The DSD maintains responsibility for the cleanliness and upkeep of the kitchen, dining, and storage areas as well as ensuring all equipment is maintained and functions properly. This role requires upholding strict adherence to city, county, and state health regulations to guarantee an excellent sanitary environment that meets and exceeds regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include the development and implementation of monthly menus tailored to meet resident dietary needs, monitoring food portions and nutritional value of meals served, and ensuring that all meals are served on schedule with no excessive time gaps between meal services. The DSD works closely with residents, their families, and healthcare providers to accommodate special dietary requirements, particularly in the Harmony Square community segment that serves residents with unique nutritional challenges. An essential component involves conducting monthly food committee meetings with resident representatives to gather feedback and enhance meal satisfaction. Moreover, the Dining Services Director manages food ordering processes and inventory to maintain quality standards while staying within budgetary constraints for food, supplies, and labor. The role demands excellent organizational and leadership skills to foster a collaborative work environment, support staff development through training and in-service educational sessions, and maintain a high level of customer service when interacting with residents, visitors, and staff. Harmony Square values flexibility in work schedules, expecting the DSD to work weekends and holidays as needed to ensure uninterrupted service. This position requires physical capability to perform various tasks including sitting, standing, bending, walking throughout the workday, and lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
